Why intervene?

 Why intervene here?

            Personally I would say that landscape architecture is all about the combination of environment, by human that build something up and transform it or blend it into the environment. The possibility of the landscape architecture is needed to know how plants living amount of large space to create with. Moreover with the understanding the past also present of that particular landscape. Human has different point of view would create amazing different design outcome. For the best combination of the environment would be the animal, vegetable and minerals. Observation we did explore though the nature, with touching, feeling, smelling sight seeing also learning to understand about it. Almost 5 hours that we has been walking up and down the hills. It was a great view that we can see the minerals from a close distance also with the far point of view.

            The word ‘INTERVENE’ will means nothing if here is only SUBJECT but no OBJECT in the sentence. It can be happened between more than two objects. It is an act of interrupting something properly or in a clever way without any notice in order to solve or discover through out the space.

To intervene is the act of being interact with something, without the two or more variants the intervening won’t happened. To intervene here, is the idea of being a part of the polluted site in order to explore, understand, and take action for the landscape idea to design something that would make people rethink about these abandoned mining site.

Credo che il concetto di intervento nasca da un bisogno, da una necessità che il Luogo esprime per poter far sentire il proprio senso inespresso…Si interviene, quindi, non tanto per trasformare e modificare, quanto per tirar fuori ed evidenziare quelle potenzialità non colte ad “occhio nudo” ed esprimere attraverso lo spazio la propria visione di un luogo che, in base ai diversi punti di vista, può cambiare forma in mille modi diversi.

Si decide di interviene in questo luogo ricco di storia per mitigare il devastante impatto e sfruttamento ambientale che l’estrazione mineraria di Piombo e Zinco ha avuto su tutto il complesso; il paesaggio è stato danneggiate, modificate ed inquinato, più o meno permanentemente, così come le attività ad esso annesse. Lo scopo di intervenire QUI è quello di dare un presente ed un futuro ad un luogo modellato dal passato e convertire il suo utilizzo per gli abitanti che lo vivono dall’interno ma che lo osservano, oramai, solo da lontano. 

In the history people always interviened on a site for further motivations; they interviened for their existence, for needs when they become stanzialed and they need to cultivate vegetable and fruit, to create a pat or streets to reach different places, to making edges, to construct something, and also to extract. For me most important things to interviewing in a site is to make something that lives maybe more than persons who made it and also useful; something that con make other people knows and comprehend something about our culture.

Here we have a site that mixed history and present, so history is presenting us by architecture, buildings by mens with squared stones, concrete and wonderful neogothic art and window before. We can see through these elements and also read how the extract and producting process was made by people, and workers here in Sardinia. The owners here are an important part of the an other process that make makesrural autocton persons to minators. Present is showed us by new geological topography that made by discard and ghost buildings. Discard topography means a new soil also new mountains and different water and river courses. Means pollution, means pour material, means caves. It’s one of the most broken, perforating, changed places were we can work on.

To extract

            What we have been observed and need to understand more about that space. It is to get to know all the elements around the site. Because of human sight seeing is not enough, needs more touching, feeling and smelling. It would give the real understanding on the site, deeply information but also do not destroy the nature. Within the different way of nature and environment has created a new architecture design that human has been discard about it, it has gave the totally different kind of expression in architecture design.

            In its own definition, extract can be part of the chemical reaction that divides two substances apart. However, in my opinion, extract is a kind of reaction when one needs to explore or to know something by pulling it out, exploded it, and separated it.

            To extract is to take something out of its own substance to make use of it. The used of useful thing that needed to be selected from the original object. My idea toward this word is the idea of exploring through object that needed to be seek for useful thing and took it out.

The extract process in miniers remains visible till now. We can read the process by the different architecture that we meet in these geological park. Before the extract process wasn’t so efficient  because of it was made by an horizontal architecture, that makes process a long chaine  made by people, machines, and also animal. Other architecture shows us a different way of extracting process, made by a vertical connection, and means a new chaine process made by people, machines, and infrastructure that allow the process to be more quick.

To discard

            For more than 50 years, human has been disturbed the environment also discard all the pollution left behind their work. Since ancient time, the most important part of the architecture structural would be the foundation of itself that could create the best space for human living. Architecture was not follow the function of human needs it seem to not useful anymore and people will not stay in that useless architecture. On the other hand, what people have been left behind it seems to create beautiful structural patterns from period of time by nature itself. 

            Discard is to get rid of something that you not even care about it. It is all about ignorance and leaving of a trace in order to find a clue in a specific location.

            To discard is to throw away things that deem to be useless or undesirable which in mining, discard was the last acted of the process. The miner would get rid of the unwanted trashes and rocks that left from the extract process.
